Jack Sparrow at Halloween

It has been record breaking hot here so I haven't been in my crafty room as it is 100 degrees in there!  But I was determined to finish this page I had layed out, when I got home from work today.  The details on this page are hard to capture in the photo.  I used distress paint (ranger) for the 2 skulls, so they are all crackled, also for the "Pirate Rules" torn page I painted crackle accents (also by Ranger) so it has a cracked/distressed look to it.  The yellow Pirate at the top is a fragment from Tim Holtz line as are all of the pieces of grungeboard, and and pin used to at the top.  For the key and the gold accent, I painted them with Paint daubers (ranger) and once they were dry I hit them with the texture hammer to rough them up.  Markus wanted to be a pirate and I thought he made a great Jack Sparrow (from Pirates of the Carribean!!)

Catching Up....

I realized I have been getting too obsessed with Stampin Up' and needed to get out my boxes of Tim Holtz goodies. I love his grunge style, and have been working on 3 pages at once while letting certain grunge-board elements dry for my other pages!.....For this layout I took a piece of green cardstock paper, and stamped the cobwebs (TH-stampers anonymous), I used TH's mask alphabet and put the plastic masks down to spell Trick or Treat, then I sponged all around the letters with distress ink. Last, I added 3 copper brads which I beat with my texture hammer (also TH), backed with basic black circles.

Look-ANOTHER scrapbook page....

I love it when my husband is on holidays and I can actually get in my craft room every day!
I had made that mini watermelon card ages ago, and also had these pics set aside to scrapbook one day....so I decided to use the card right on the page. i used a texture plate on the sahara sand piece and stamped on the "red", the real name escapes me right at this moment, with The enjoy every moment set

I wasn't happy with the original page, so I decided to use the life's a beach and roll it onto riding hood red c/s and then emboss it in white to cover up the first wheel....I like it better now!

Markus' visitors!

These 2 pages took me forever to finish, and I am still not crazy about them, but I have to get Markus' first year done!

Family

I decided to change this layout, every time I looked at it, it bugged me...I like it better now!

I just love that the new SU catalog has that wide striped ribbon in more colors (so I have them all of course!). I finally used some of my hogepodge hardware that I have been saving (for what I don't know!) I sponged black ink on it, as it was very vanilla to begin with and attached it with black ribbon.

6x6 turned 12x12

The pictures will go in the circles once I get them cut out!

Sunrise/sunset?!

I love how this turned out. I just got the stamp set Inspired By Nature and wanted to try a brayered scene. I used my Circle Scissors to cut out a 6" circle to make the mask, then brayered pumkin pie, yoyo yellow and sponged on some not quite navy. Then I stamped the grass in the background (in black) and then the flower in versamark and embossed with black powder. I thought it needed something more on the outside of the circle (the white area), but wasn't sure what to do so I distressed the edges and decided to leave it the white!

God's Beauty

I embossed and colored the images from God's Beauty stamp set then cut them out and popped them up with dimensionals.

One can never have too many purses!

I saw this purse idea on Dawn's blog and wanted to try it. The ones in Riding Hood red were supposed to match the ones in pink, but silly me put tpp much adhesive when attatching the front panel, and I didn't realize until all 3 were glued shut! So I just cut out a piece of RH red cardstock to make the back of the card. I will make one of the scalloped envelope purses tp put the cards into.

Flower Pot

I have seen these all over, but the particular measurements that I used came from Linda Hellar. I like that she adjusted them to be a bit smaller to fit into a 4x6 envelope. Of course I read wrong and made mine even smaller, but it still worked! I used the 5 petal punch to create the flowers and adhered them with dimensionals to hang over the top of the pot. Cute, I think I will try it again!

"it don't matter if it's black or white.."

Sorry, that's my cheesy tribute to MJ!
I like how this turned out with the black, white, and basic gray. The DP is from Rockabilly (SU) it is so cool, it is shiny on the stripes, and I embossed the "flowers in sillouette" in white.

Roses

This is done with re-inkers...since I only have the new in color re-inkers I was a bit limited to colors. I stamped the rose from Fifth Ave. Floral on shimmery white c/s with craft white ink, then embossed with clear powder. I spritzed the images with water, then using an aqua painter and a drop from the reinkers you color in your image. Hard to explain, but if you want to watch a great tutorial, hop over to pattystamps.com
